With ongoing Navratras the whole city is decorated with puja pandals. Every pandal is having a unique theme to woo people. Safdarjung Enclave's Matri Mandir puja committee have planned a 'Thakur Dalan' theme this year.Milani Puja Committee of Mayur Vihar has a Commonwealth Games theme.The entrance to the pandal will be shaped like the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. There will be panels along the pandal depicting the main festivals of 12 different states. This is to share the festive spirit and include other states in celebration.
The C R Park K-block committee have replicated Rabindranath Tagore's house in Selaidah (now in Bangladesh) as their mandap to celebrate 150 years of Tagore's life. Many puja pandals are going in for an eco-friendly mandap that is built of bamboo sticks
